Improving your Language Skills

In order to begin your course of studies at one of the Osnabrück universities, you are first required to prove your German language proficiency (see “BeforeYour Studies Begin”, under ‘Admission and Language Requirements’. So you have probably taken German courses in your home country or in Germany. Since it is easy to forget an acquired language, it is advisable to seek out ways  to solidify and expand your language skills during your studies abroad. For example, you could organize a conversation group together with other foreign and German students—however,  it would be important to have a member who is a native German speaker.  Besides helping you keep up your German skills, this type of conversation group also facilitates meeting new people.

University of Osnabrück Language Center
