The three menus

The kitchen teams create delicious and varied dishes for MENSA GLOBAL, MENSA ACTIVE and MENSA CLASSIC. The menus cater for the different tastes and dietary habits of the guests in Osnabrück Student Services’ six dining halls and cafeterias. In creating the menus, culinary preferences are taken into account, as well as the guests’ demands and attitudes regarding the production and processing of the food. Each menu has a different focus. All three menus offer delicious dishes.

MENSA GLOBAL

CLIMATE-FRIENDLY AND PLANT-BASED

MENSA GLOBAL represents a climate-friendly kitchen. These environmentally friendly dishes are marked on the menu as climate plates.

MENSA GLOBAL is 100% plant-based, international cuisine. The dishes are inspired by classic Mediterranean recipes and Levantine dishes with mouth-watering Middle Eastern flavors and ingredients such as chickpeas, eggplant, peppers and olives.

Examples from the MENSA GLOBAL menu include falafel, chili, curry and baked potato dishes.

MENSA ACTIVE

VITALIZING AND BALANCED

MENSA ACTIVE consists of vitalizing and balanced dishes. ACTIVE recipes use healthy, balanced and nutritious ingredients: complex carbohydrates, healthy fats and proteins and they generally contain less salt and sugar.

The MENSA ACTIVE menu includes various bowls, which are either vegetarian or served with meat and fish.

MENSA CLASSIC

HOMESTYLE AND HEARTY

MENSA CLASSIC is characterized by regional specialties and traditional German and European cuisine. Predominantly seasonal ingredients are used.

MENSA CLASSIC also offers desserts that vary from fruity to creamy-sweet.

Examples from the MENSA CLASSIC menu are burgers, schnitzels, stews and pasta dishes.

What all menus have in common

Osnabrück Student Services respect the environment and prefer to use organically and fairly produced and traded products. When it comes to meat, species-appropriate livestock husbandry is preferred. Fish dishes are prepared with fish from sustainable fishing or from controlled aquaculture.
