Small and whoo!

The city's small, the university's small. With around 5,500 students, it is one of the smallest independent universities in Germany. And Vechta itself? "... almost metropolitan offers unite here with rural peace and serenity. This combination is what makes our city so attractive," says the Economic Development Agency.

Everything in this city of 33,000 inhabitants can be reached comfortably on foot or by bicycle. And yet the range of shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs is large.

The Osnabrück Student Services offers the students in Vechta "the full program": from dormitories to cafeterias and daycare centers.

No matter whether you fancy meat, fish or vegetarian food - in the Mensa and Bistro of the Student Services in Vechta all guests get their money's worth. Both have already won numerous awards. Click here to find out what is currently available ...

Live next door...

Universitätsstraße 9, 49377 Vechta

Quite convenient: live right next to the university! Our residential complex "Universitätsstraße" offers space for 146 students, in the immediate vicinity of the university facilities: rooms, apartments and flats.

Spatzennest – space for the little ones

The Spatzennest is officially called "Großtagespflegestelle" - but everything revolves around the smallest. The main people in childcare near the university are boys and girls between 10 months and 3 years old - the offspring of studying parents.
