160,000 inhabitants and about 26,000 students: Osnabrück can rightly call itself a "student town". With its universities, Osnabrück is by far the largest location for which the Osnabrück Student Services is responsible. The administration of the Studentenwerk also is located here.
Osnabrück is young, colourful and famous. Pubs, cafés and restaurants are located almost at every corner of the picturesque old town. If you want, you can enjoy yourself until the early hours of the morning ...
However, Osnabrück is famous because of an event more than 400 years ago. In 1648 - after five years of negotiations - the Peace of Westphalia was signed here in the town hall. That is why Osnabrück still calls itself "the city of peace" today.
