What is "Wohnen für Hilfe" about?

Instead of paying rent, help the landlord: for example by cooking, cleaning and gardening - this is the idea of the project "Wohnen für Hilfe Osnabrück" (Housing for Help). It wants to bring together students and people with vacant living space for the mutual benefit of both sides.

Apartments are in short supply and rents are often unaffordable for students. On the other hand, senior citizens, single people, families and people with physical disabilities often still have free living space. But they lack this or that support in everyday life.
The "Wohnen für Hilfe" project aims to bring together students and people with vacant housing to form housing partnerships.

If successful, this is how it works: 1 hour of help per month for every 1 square metre of living space provided. Cooking, ironing, washing or cleaning, gardening and shopping are just as possible as social gatherings, joint activities or childcare. In principle - completely flexibly - each form of assistance can be agreed upon - only care services are excluded.
